Miami Leads the Eastern Conference 11-3

Tonight the Miami Heat fans watched the sun set on the Phoenix Suns in American Airlines ArenaLeBron James scored 35 points to assist the Heat to a 107-92 lead over the Suns.

Miami's sun seems to agree with Michael Beasley better than Phoenix' Suns where Beasely played prior to coming to Miami. Beasley is starting to dominate on the court. What I have seen in Beasley is that he has given up some of his ego in order to become a better player. By letting go the ego, he has more energy for laser focused domination on the court.

The Miami Heat wins because the Heat players leave the ego personality out of the game. They bring the "I come to win" personality. Then they play hard and play to win.  If winning means assisting other team members to score that's what the team does. If it means tearing down the rim. They all know how to do that too. They do what they do and do it well. The Heat players know that winning is not always scoring. Sometimes it is assisting your teammates to win. When they walk off the court with another win on their record, they all win. The same goes for losing. When the team loses everyone loses.

Our nation's capitol could take some lessons from the Miami Heat's winning strategy.  Practice hard and play hard. Play to win. However, when you lose, as you sometimes will, take what lessons you can and move on to play better the next time.

The problem in Washington is that it is ruled by ego's. The people whose faces you see are not the ones making the decisions, their ego's have taken over. Ego's do not know how to give and take, they only know how to take.  How unfortunate.
